Psalm 23:5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.
Growth happens due to resistance from our enemies. A bodybuilder needs resistance for increased muscle growth. The same is true for our spiritual growth. We need resistance, whether it be criticism, a tough boss, reproached for Jesus, being in need, physical persecution, sickness, rejection, an enduring trial, etc. The Holy Spirit will anointed us with power to overcome all these things, but we must be willing to go through the trial through self-abandonment to Jesus. His grace and life from the Holy Spirit will overflow in our hearts and we will be in abundance.
