Psalm 116:15 “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints“
The primary interpretation of this passage is that it is referring to physical death. Today, I want to look at secondary meaning, in that it is talking about dying to the self-life. It is not easy to die to our self-life, it will fight us on every turn, seeking to save it’s life in this world. It is a constant battle which we have to take up our own cross daily to die to it’s desires.
Luke 9:23,24 Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.
When we die to our self-life we receive the life of Jesus in our hearts, it is a beauty exchange!
2 Corinthians 4:10 – 12 “Always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. 11 For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. 12 So then death is working in us, but life in you.”
Prophetic word from a fellowship meeting: “The whole process, He has been there with you the entire time. It’s all precious in the eyes in the Lord. He has seen our tears, our sufferings, our screaming, our moaning. He counts it as joy.”
